Little bit of a misleading title. Japan still has locksmiths, you just cannot have lockpicking tools without a good reason to own them

I do find the censorship silly. Like killing people is illegal in Japan, yet no censorship there lol

Killing people is also a crime but they don’t censor when a person splits in two another one with a katana. Censorship makes no sense.

Anyone got sources on the actual law? Because all I can find is people regurgitating other people’s speculation in social media posts.

    4. If I know anything about Japanese media censorship, that lock has the jizz of 15 men on it.

I live in Virginia and lock picks are considered prima facie evidence, so just owning them is considered to be a crime also unless you can prove you had them for a good reason.

On a somewhat related note… A few days ago I came across a post about ***Lada*** on GitHub which allows you to real-time uncensor content for as long as you ( I think that’s the only requirement ) have an RTX 20xx or newer GPU.

My understanding was with it primarily being made to deal with JAV’s but I also tested it ( to some degree ) successfully on censored Anime. Wouldn’t be surprised if what sparked Lada’s development was a recent YouTube Video about an algorithm making the rounds to uncensor censored content ( like login Details, etc… ) on YouTube that could do just that for as long as the content was animated ( hence the “to some degree” when uncensoring Anime – If there’s no movement it won’t work ).

Ah, and obviously it’ll only work on Pixel Censoring like in OPs screenshot, Godrays and the likes won’t work either 🤣

    7. This reminds me of “John Dies at the End” where one of them goes to grab a doorknob in a haunted place and it transforms into a dick. Haha

    8. In Terminator 2, Linda Hamilton actually picked a lock with a paperclip and that was almost cut out in the UK version (it did remain in the end, but not without controversy).
